About the Huntsman Weapon Case
Huntsman Weapon Case dropped on May 1, 2014 with the "The Hunt Begins" update and will always be the case tied to the Huntsman Knife debut. That gives it a clean identity even if you forget almost everything else about the release.
The case is old enough now that part of the price is pure history, but the knife model still does the heavy lifting. If you care about the Huntsman shape and the fact that this was its first home, the case still makes sense as a collector open.
Trivia
- •Tec-9 | Isaac is created by the same creator as the Asiimov family of skins, and is originally uploaded as Tec-9 | Asiimov, & is also named after science fiction author Isaac Asimov.
- •Auzzii & Sic (contributors on the stolen M4A4 | Howl) were both removed from The Huntsman Collection due to copyright reasons. Auzii also created a sticker called Howling Dawn which was also made into the contraband. Several stickers created by Sic were also removed at the time, including the Winged Defuser & Harp of War but much like his other skins removed from the case they were not made contraband.
- •The Huntsman Collection is the largest collection ever, as it contains 22 skins if you include the M4A4 - Howl, which is also the only contraband skin in the game. ==Update History== ==========
- •Added to the game ==========
- •6 items have been replaced by items from the workshop. ==========
- •Fixed M4A4 | Howl showing as the wrong quality in GOTV streams.

- •Every opening is independent — past results don't change future odds
FAQ
Why is Huntsman Weapon Case still opened at all?▼
Because it is the first home of the Huntsman Knife. For players who specifically want that model's shape and history, the case still makes emotional sense even when the numbers do not.
What items are in the Huntsman Weapon Case?▼
The Huntsman Weapon Case contains 28 skins across 5 rarity tiers: 13 ★ Rare Special, 2 Covert, 3 Classified, 4 Restricted, 6 Mil-Spec. The rare special tier includes 1 knive across 13 finishes.
How do I open the Huntsman Weapon Case for free?▼
Use the simulator on this page. It runs Valve's published drop probabilities, so the unboxing pattern matches the real case. You can also see the expected ROI before committing real money to it. No login or download.
Are the Huntsman Weapon Case drop rates realistic?▼
Yes. The simulator uses the drop probabilities Valve publishes for CS2 containers. For the Huntsman Weapon Case, that means knives at 0.26% per opening.
What are the knives drop rates in the Huntsman Weapon Case?▼
Knives land at 0.26% per opening — about 1 in 385. The Huntsman Weapon Case has 1 knive across 13 finishes, so the odds of pulling one specific finish are noticeably lower than the headline number suggests.
What is the most valuable skin in the Huntsman Weapon Case?▼
The ★ Huntsman Knife | Case Hardened is the headline pull, but its real value depends on the blue-pattern percentage rather than the listed Steam Market price. Rare "Blue Gem" patterns from this case can trade for many multiples of the average listed price.
When was the Huntsman Weapon Case added to CS2?▼
The Huntsman Weapon Case was added to the game on May 1, 2014, alongside the "The Hunt Begins" update. It is classified as Container Series #17. It replaced the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case as the newest case.
How much does the Huntsman Weapon Case cost?▼
The Huntsman Weapon Case costs around $13.97 on the Steam Market as of May. Add $2.49 for the key and each opening totals $16.46. You can try it risk-free in our simulator before buying.
What is the expected ROI of the Huntsman Weapon Case?▼
27.5% — meaning a $16.46 opening (case + key) returns about $4.53 on average. Most value is locked behind the rare special items — the average opening returns less than cost.
Does the Huntsman Weapon Case have StatTrak™ items?▼
Yes. Non-special skins can drop as StatTrak™ at a 10% chance. The variant tracks in-game kills and usually trades at a premium over the standard version.
