About the Chroma Case
Dropped on January 8, 2015 alongside the "Full Spectrum" update, Chroma Case is one of the easiest old cases to explain: it is the first case in the Chroma line and the one that put finishes like Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Damascus Steel on the classic knife pool. That gave it an identity that still feels sharp more than a decade later.
Players still come back for Gut Knife, M9 Bayonet, Karambit, Flip Knife and Bayonet in finishes like Doppler, Ultraviolet, Damascus Steel, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Rust Coat, with ★ Karambit | Doppler (Ruby) sitting at the top of the ceiling. The average opening is rough at 56.1% ROI, so the case is not about steady value at all; it is about the rare-special hit and the history attached to it.
Trivia
- •The Galil AR | Chatterbox has the words "Feed Me" written upside-down on the right side, which will become correctly oriented in the player's view when inspecting the weapon.
- •It is painted in such a way so that the skull's mouth looks like it is moving when firing.
