About the Prisma Case
Released on March 13, 2019 during the "Seeing the Light" update, Prisma Case took the Stiletto Knife, Navaja Knife, Talon Knife and Ursus Knife models that had appeared in Horizon and Danger Zone and gave them the flashier Chroma-style finish language for the first time. That made the case instantly easier to read and easier to chase.
Players still understand it instantly: the special pool is the point, the finish family is the hook, and the lower entry price keeps it in real opening conversations. That combination is why Prisma has aged better than a lot of ordinary modern cases.
Trivia
- •Prior to an update, the M4A4 skin was named "Emperor", but changed to "The Emperor" to synchronize with the opposing side with a similar AK-47 skin "The Empress".

FAQ
What made Prisma Case click with players?▼
It paired the newer knife generation from Horizon and Danger Zone with flashy Chroma-style finishes that players already knew how to value. That made the case easy to understand and easy to chase from day one.
What items are in the Prisma Case?▼
The Prisma Case contains 69 skins across 5 rarity tiers: 52 ★ Rare Special, 2 Covert, 3 Classified, 5 Restricted, 7 Mil-Spec. The rare special tier includes 4 knives across 10 finishes.
How do I open the Prisma Case for free?▼
Use the simulator on this page. It runs Valve's published drop probabilities, so the unboxing pattern matches the real case. You can also see the expected ROI before committing real money to it. No login or download.
Are the Prisma Case drop rates realistic?▼
Yes. The simulator uses the drop probabilities Valve publishes for CS2 containers. For the Prisma Case, that means knives at 0.26% per opening.
What are the knives drop rates in the Prisma Case?▼
Knives land at 0.26% per opening — about 1 in 385. The Prisma Case has 4 knives across 10 finishes, so the odds of pulling one specific finish are noticeably lower than the headline number suggests.
What is the most valuable skin in the Prisma Case?▼
The ★ Talon Knife | Doppler (Ruby) is the top pull, valued at up to $3,476.99 on the Steam Market.
When was the Prisma Case added to CS2?▼
The Prisma Case was added to the game on March 13, 2019, alongside the "Seeing the Light" update. It is classified as Container Series #274. It replaced the Danger Zone Case as the newest case.
How much does the Prisma Case cost?▼
The Prisma Case costs around $2.54 on the Steam Market as of May. Add $2.49 for the key and each opening totals $5.03. You can try it risk-free in our simulator before buying.
What is the expected ROI of the Prisma Case?▼
56.4% — meaning a $5.03 opening (case + key) returns about $2.84 on average. Most value is locked behind the rare special items — the average opening returns less than cost.
Does the Prisma Case have StatTrak™ items?▼
Yes. Non-special skins can drop as StatTrak™ at a 10% chance. The variant tracks in-game kills and usually trades at a premium over the standard version.
